🏊♂️ Killarney Sets Records at the Ontario Junior International
Killarney was proudly represented by eight swimmers—Matea Gigovic, Megan L’Heureux, Alan Piatek, Brooklin Rideout, Grace Rowe, Maya Share, Sky Song, and Soren Young—at the Ontario Junior International this past weekend. The meet took place at the Pan Am Sports Centre in Toronto. Together, the team achieved an outstanding 47 personal best times, broke 20 club records (20 including both 15–17 and Senior categories), set a provincial record, and broke a national record.
🏅 Medal Highlights
🥇🥇 Matea Gigovic captured three individual medals, winning gold in the 50 Fly and 100 Fly, and 🥈 silver in the 50 Free.
🥈🥈 Alan Piatek earned silver medals in both the 50 Back and 100 Back. Alan not only broke the Club Record and the 16 Year Old Provincial Age Group Record in the 50 Back, but he also set a 🥇 new Canadian National 16 Age Group Record with an impressive time of 24.39.
The 15–17 Girls 4 x 100 Free Relay team also took home the 🥉 bronze medal, helping secure what may be the most successful meet in Killarney history.
