Swimmers MUST be coachable, watersafe, and able to swim at least 25M on both their front and back without stopping, standing, or grabbing the lane ropes or walls.

If your swimmer is not yet ready for tryouts, we recommend registering in any of the following: MNP Summer Sport Partner Swimming Camp, Calgary P-Too Learn to Swim Association, Nose Creek Shark School, or City lessons.

The best time for a swimmer to join KSC is 6-9 yrs old. By the time a swimmer is 10 yrs old, it's very difficult to get a spot in our Club. We do not accept rookies 11yrs+.

Our club is a 100% competitive team environment. We do not offer a "learn to swim" or "recreational swimming" program. Lane space is too limited. While all families are free to choose which meets work best for their family schedule, Sprocket swimmers who do not attend at least 2 meets per season are not maximizing the program and are at risk of falling behind their peers. This often results in losing out on advancement (moveup) opportunities. Most swimmers only miss 1 or 2 meets a season. These meets are held approximately every 4-6 wks on a Saturday or Sunday. 

Group Descriptions - Our Fundamentals Program (Sprockets 1-2-3) swims T/Th/Fr(Spr 3 only) with the occasional Saturday dive practice.

If your swimmer is currently swimming with another club and you're hoping to transfer to us, please email office@killarneyswimming.com. Include your swimmer's full name, date of birth, current training schedule and best time report.

Our next tryout will take place June 2 & 4, 2026 (for a September 2026 start.) Swimmers should plan to attend both days.
