Killarney Swim Club Shines at the Cascade Speed Meet

Killarney Swim Club made a big splash at the Cascade Speed Meet this past weekend, delivering outstanding performances, record-breaking swims, and a medal haul that showcased the depth and dedication of the team.

Over two days of competition, Killarney swimmers achieved an incredible 231 Personal Best Times, a testament to their hard work, focus, and steady progress throughout the season.  Coaches, teammates, and families had plenty to cheer about as the swimmers rose to the occasion race after race.

Record-Breaking Performances

The girls’ team had an especially memorable meet, breaking Six Club Records:

  • Sophia Shpak – 100 Breaststroke1:13.95

  • Nicole L'Heureux – 400 Freestyle4:28.79

  • Nicole L'Heureux – 800 Freestyle9:14.20

  • Sophie Holowaychuk – 200 Backstroke2:18.68

  • Matea Gigovic – 100 Backstroke1:01.98

  • Matea Gigovic – 100 IM1:05.63

Medal Highlights

Killarney’s excellence didn’t stop at records and Best Times. The club wrapped up the meet with an impressive 44 medals, including:

  • 🥇 19 Gold

  • 🥈 13 Silver

  • 🥉 12 Bronze

The Cascade Speed Meet was a resounding success for Killarney Swim Club. With Personal Bests, New Club Records, a new U Sports Qualifier (Maya Share), and a proud collection of medals, the swimmers demonstrated commitment, teamwork, and the competitive spirit that defines the club.
