KSC Represented by 9 Swimmers at SNC World Trials

Killarney Swim Club was represented by 9 Swimmers at the Swimming Canada World Swimming Trials.  This is the largest contingent KSC has sent to a national event.  The competition took place over 6 days at Victoria’s Commonwealth Aquatic Center.

Matea Gigovic, Brandon Hachey, Olivia Hatch, Megan L’Heureux, Alan Piatek, Brooklin Rideout, Maya Share, and Soren Young were Killarney’s representatives.

The team posted 10 Best Times, 2 Junior Gold Medals, 1 Silver Open and 5 Club Records.

Matea Gigovic was the team’s top performer.  Gigovic qualified for the Open A Final in the 100 Fly and 50 Fly.  The speedy Gigovic was the top qualifier going into the Day 6 50 Fly Final.  However, she was out touched by Veteran National Team Member Taylor Ruck, earning the Silver Medal.  Matea was awarded the Junior 18&U Gold Medal in 50 fly and 100 Fly.  

Matea has been named to the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championship Team Canada Roster.  The Junior Championships will be held Aug 19-24 in Otopeni, Romania.
