KSC Training Camp Torremolinos, Spain
Over the spring break the Killarney Swim Club completed a two week training camp in Torremolinos, Spain. The team was represented by 20 swimmers, 2 coaches, and 3 Chaperones.
Coach Brad invited guest Coach Todd Melton to add technical experience to the Camp. The camp focused on Training preparation for upcoming competitions, Team Building, and Life Experience.
On most days, the group swam twice a day in a beautiful 50 m outdoor pool. Training included Aerobic, Anaerobic challenges, and Technical Building. Coach Todd, well known for his exceptional technical coaching and expertise in stroke development, brought some of his equipment for video and stroke analysis, which provided an excellent learning opportunity for the swimmers. Todd provided presentations on his version of KSC's 5 Technical Fingers "Fin Knox."
For Life Experience and Cultural events the team has some amazing outings, including: Caminito del Rey hike, day trip to Gibraltar/St Michael's Cave, Walking Tour in Ronda, Walking Tour Malaga, and ziplining.
The swimmers were amazing ambassadors for KSC and Canada, always holding themselves up to the highest standard while at the pool, hotel and on excursions. KSC swimmers traded swim caps with other swimmers/teams from all around the world, including Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Finland!
Thank you to our wonderful chaperons, Erin, Monica and Maja!
